Zoom Lecture: 400 Years of Salem Women

Sunday, September 20, 2020

5:00 pm

6:30 pm

In honor of this centennial anniversary year of the passage of the 19th Amendment, Donna Seger will present an illustrated history of 400 years of notable — and relatively unknown — Salem women, from the seventeenth century to the present. Too often the only Salem women deemed “historic” are either accused witches or genteel philanthropists, but there is a rich history of Salem women entrepreneurs, authors, artists, workers, educators, and activists who made their mark in myriad ways.

DONNA SEGER is Professor of History at Salem State University, and author of the blog Streets of Salem, which has featured these women’s stories weekly in 2020 as part of its #SalemSuffrageSaturday series.

Reservations are a must.
We will send the Zoom link to everyone who signs up.
